Social Gap, October 3rd & 4th

The Dos Palos LIONS Club and Eagle Field present Social Gap, "A Drag Race for the Time we Live In" Saturday and Sunday October 3rd and 4th! This Race is for Driver and Crew members, unfortunately NO Spectators and there will be NO BLEACHERS. Gate opens Friday October 2nd at 9am for early arrivals (Overnight Camping is FREE with Paid Entry), Entries and Crew Passes must be purchase in advance. Purchases can be made online by clicking on the "Shop" link (CLICK HERE)or by printing the mail in  form on the event registration page.

This event format will be different than regulars are accustomed to with "Social Gap" being a two day event using the "Tree" both days.  The other thing we are going to try is Bracket Racing along with the  QUICK8 Categories. The schedule will be Time Trials ALL DAY Saturday and Eliminations held on Sunday. Yes I said Bracket Racing......here is a brief description for those who not familiar with Bracket Racing. Bracket Racing is a Dial your projected ET you think you'll run, put that ET on your window (Dial In) and it will be entered in the computer along with your opponents. Lets say you think your car will run an 8.00 and your opponent puts a 7.00 Dial In, you will get a 1 second head start. First to the Finish Line WINS.....AS LONG AS THE FIRST TO THE FINISH DOESN'T RUN QUICKER THAN THEIR DIAL IN. Your Reaction Time plays an important  part in the contest. PLEASE keep in mind this is our first attempt at this format and I'm sure there will be a learning curve.

With that said I need all contestants to put the Class they are going to run on their TECH Card for our crew to identify your car with on the windshield. Here is the list of Classes...

* MEAN STREET (Bracket Class for all Door Cars)

* GASSER (66 and earlier vehicles Built to look like a 60's Gasser, non Gasser style vehicles run Mean Street)

* OPEN COMP (Dragsters, Altereds, Funny Cars, ETC.)

* BANDIT (12" tire, POWER ADDER ALLOWED, SEE RULES)

* DOORSLAMMER (Any POWER ADDER, ANY TIRE, SEE RULES)
