We lost another Dear Friend, Lynn Hammond. Lynn was like an Uncle and Brother to me and he will be Deeply Missed. The Fresno Dragways Reunion will be dedicated to Our Friend! God Speed Lynn! Rocky

We lost a Dear Friend and Fellow Eagle Field Volunteer Sunday September 18th 2011. Rick Dekneef lost his life doing what he loved and he LOVED driving his and son Ridge's Camaro at 200 MPH speeds @ Races in Nevada. Many may recognize Rick as the Man who supervised our Drag Race events from the Starting Line. Rick will be missed and the October race is Dedicated to the Memory of Rick, God Speed my friend!

4/30/12 Update

We're 18 days from opening the gate to our BIGGEST weekend of Drag Racing yet on the Historic Eagle Field Runway. The volunteers have been busy getting the 'Field ready , concrete is planned for our Sunday participants to do Water Burnouts on, and the Hanger will be cleaned & ready for moviemaker Faith Grainger, her famous "Deuce" and Award winning "Deuce of Spades" movie to be shown Friday and Saturday Night at 7:30PM.
The Saturday May 19th Fresno Dragways Reunion will offer all the pre-74 sights and sounds our Fans have come to love including our athletic Flag Starters. Many of your favorites will return Saturday among them are our Special Guest Ray Silva, Stormy Byrd's "Revelation" Modified Roadster match racing Randy Winkle's "El Greengo" Modified Coupe, Local Favorite Elmer Snyder, a large field of Gassers, Local & "Out of Town" Racers and Much Much MORE!
Sunday May 20th will be a bit more contemporary with a "Christmas Tree" in place for the LIONS Race which will offer all racers timed performances on the tricky runway with the traction of a parking lot. The surface makes for a great equalizer in our Two Heads-Up Doorslammer categories, offering close racing. Many are planning to stay for Sundays show so plenty of good old fashion grudge racing will round out Sundays action.
The weekend has so much to offer and I don't want you to miss a'thing, your at the right place to find all the information including the weekend schedule, an Event Preview of Participants, UPDATED General & Class rules and Motel Discounts to prepare yourself for a great weekend of Old School Drag Racing! Rocky

DON'T MISS
Meet Filmmaker Faith Granger, her famous "Duece" and see the award winning movie "DEUCE OF SPADES"  in the
Eagle Field Hanger Friday and Saturday night of the event!

3/7/12 Update!
OK everyone we're getting ready for our Biggest weekend of racing yet at Eagle Field and the eaglefielddrags.com site is updated and full of answers to your questions. Yep, we will be racing Saturday May 19th and Sunday May 20th with 2 different formats to satisfy every-ones need for speed. Saturday May 19th the Fresno Dragways Reunion returns with the Popular 73 and earlier Flag Start format feat
uring lots of "Early Iron" race cars you may only see race at Eagle Field. There has been much of talk about Gassers and a number of them coming from the Northwest, so I'm setting aside a special area called "Gasser Alley".

Then we ready the 'Field for some timed runs, setting up the tree on Sunday the 20th for the LIONS Drag race. This years LIONS Race will have all the GRUDGE Racing that Eagle Field is known for PLUS 2 "Heads-Up" Door Slammer categories and with the Runway having the traction of a parking lot it will be anybodies race. To add some excitement we will allow Water Burnouts on Sunday (only) but leave the VHT, Rosin or any other GLUE HOME! Check out  the Rules and Race Day Info page
(be patient as the site may be slow to load) for more details including the weekends schedule.
General Admission prices will be $15 Saturday and $10 on Sunday with Race entry being an additional $25 for Saturday (totals $40 Car and Driver) and $35 (totals $45 Car and Driver) for Sunday at the Gate. There are discounts to those who Pre-Register (special Mini Bike pricing also) with a form on the bottom of the sites Home Page.
Many may not know that we've added a Forum
http://eaglefield.proboards.com/ for all our Eagle Field fans to ask questions, make suggestions, post projects and keep up with the goings on at Eagle Field, check it out! I've also updated the Scheduled to Appear page and would like to post a picture of your entry if ya plan on coming, email me a picture or let me know if ya think I may have a picture on file and I'll add it.
Well I promised myself I'd keep it short, just remember eaglefielddrags.com for all the latest! Rocky

1/9/12
Eagle Field's Fresno Dragways Reunion Special Guest Ray Silva started racing in 1964 when he traveled to Turlock CA (which he now calls home) from San Jose to purchase his 1st Dragster. The dragster was then fitted with a Blown 348 he purchased from Sid Waterman. After the 348 expired Ray raced a Modified Crosley with a V8 until 1965 when he built another Dragster to race in the Jr Fuel Category. Ray raced the Jr Fuel until his country called him for duty.
After serving our country Ray built a D/Dragster (very simular to todays car) that with 11 straight wins at Fremont won him his Track Jacket. Ray continued to race and chase points until 1969 when he and partner Frank Alves decided two engines were better than one and built a Twin Engine Dragster. The two raced the Twin until 1971 when Ray decided to focus on family.
Today with his family grown Ray has built another Dragster to race for the Fun Of It! Ray purchased his current car from late friend Roy Victor, a 1971 Jim Davis former Top Fuel car that he has updated to meet NHRA requirements. The car is very similar to his original D/Dragster with the engine built much like him and one time brother-in-law Arnold Schaves of Dos Palmas Machine Fame had done. The differences are this 292 Chevy 6 is equipped with Mechanical Fuel Injection and coupled to a Powerglide. Rays original D/Dragster ran 9.80's @ 141, his current car has yet to have performances recorded However I hope Ray will return for our LIONS Drag Race on Sunday and "put it through the eyes" for a Time Slip! Hope you join us! Rocky Phillips
